Alternative Healing and Stress Management

The mind and body are permanently linked. What affects one almost always has an effect on the other. Dominant Negative Emotions can have a huge impact on your wellness - mind, body, and spirit.

Whether it's anxiety, depression, frustration, anger, helplessness, fear, or other negative emotion, it all causes stress.

I'm sure you already know this, but studies have found many - if not most - health problems related to Chronic Stress. Stress seems to worsen or increase the risk of physical ailments like obesity, heart disease, Alzheimer's, diabetes, depression, gastrointestinal problems, and asthma.

But physical ailments are not the only part of our health affected by Chronic Stress. Many studies show a correlation between stress and the development of mood disorders such as anxiety disorders and depression. According to the American Psychological Association’s latest stress survey, 66 percent of people regularly experience physical symptoms of stress, and 63 percent experience psychological symptoms.

Oftentimes, when we’re stressed, it feels like bullets are flying at us from every angle. We start to feel like we’re playing a game of dodge ball... ducking, dipping, diving, and dodging so we don’t get smacked by a barrage of balls.

Perhaps it's finances, a project at work, an upcoming exam, a dispute with your boss, a fight with your spouse? Of course, not all stress is caused by external factors. Stress can also be internal or self-generated, like when you worry excessively about something that may or may not happen, or have irrational, pessimistic thoughts about life.

Our mind and body interprets this stress - internal and external - as a threat.

When we feel threatened, our nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, which rouse the body for emergency action. These physical changes prepare you to either fight or flee from the danger at hand.


This can be good or bad


When working properly, stress helps us stay focused, energetic, and alert. In emergency situations, stress can save our lives - giving us extra strength to defend ourselves. Stress can also help us rise to meet challenges. It’s what keeps us focused and sharpens our concentration.

But beyond a certain point, stress stops being helpful and starts causing major damage to your health, your mood, your productivity, your relationships, and your quality of life.

Our body isn't very good at distinguishing between emotional and physical threats. If we’re stressed over an argument with a spouse, a work deadline, or a mountain of bills, our body can react just as strongly as if we’re facing a true life-or-death situation.

And the more our emergency stress system is activated, the easier it is to trip and the harder it is to shut off.


The Consequence


If you tend to get stressed out frequently—as many of us do in today’s demanding world—your body may be in a heightened state of stress most of the time. That can lead to serious health problems.

Chronic stress disrupts nearly every system in your body. It can suppress your immune system, upset your digestive and reproductive systems, increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, and speed up the aging process. It can even rewire the brain, leaving you more vulnerable to anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems.

The most dangerous thing about stress is how easily it can creep up on you. You get used to it. It starts to feels familiar - even normal. You don’t notice how much it’s affecting you, even as it takes a heavy toll.


Holistic Healing



My niche of holistic healing involves healing the mind, body, and spirit through the relief of stress, reduction of anxiety, and re-establishing control of mental and emotional well-being.

I do this through the use of special Mind-body Interventions designed to rewire the mind-body connection to promote healing and wellness, rather than contributing to physical illness and poor mental health.

This type of healing can reverse physical and emotional trauma, ease diseases, shift thoughts and emotions, and hasten enlightenment. And I don't stop there...
Once healing is underway, I provide training and skills to help you relieve stress, reduce anxiety, and regain control of your own wellness.

Many have experienced major turnarounds in their condition as a result of my Mind-body Interventions. They find the moral support, courage, hope, and faith to follow through with their personal recovery program. How is the Healing done?


Restoring a balanced sense of health and well-being requires increased awareness of all aspects of self, including mind, body, and spirit. My Mind-body Interventions are intended to ignite this inner capacity and infuse your life with a total wellness - inside and out.

The skills that I will teach you will help you learn to relate directly to whatever is happening in your life. They provide a way of taking charge of your life; a way of consciously and systematically working with your own stress, pain, illness, and the challenges and demands of everyday life.

My techniques provide balance and harmony to help one overcome stress, pain, trauma, PTSD, and anxiety.

These practices also teach Awareness, Presence, Observation, Non-judgment, Non-attachment, Acceptance, and Compassion. This allows for a fuller and deeper healing. These practices help one to let go of all the stress, anxiety, and trauma and begin the healing process, starting with the inside.

With individual sessions and workshops tailored specifically towards adults, teens, and children, my clients engage in thoughtful stress-reducing exercises to increase emotional flexibility, develop compassion, improve focus and calmness, and strengthen overall awareness.

The lessons have a very down-to-earth approach and the practices can easily be adapted to an individual’s life – truly improving their overall well-being.


The effects are lasting too

Because we are healing from the inside out, the context or focus for your thoughts and actions, old habits can be shed and newer, more beneficial routines will fall in place.

Once we discover the root cause of your stress and anxiety and reframe your beliefs, past experiences, and perceived limitations, the possibilities for you personal freedom become boundless.

Reframing an experience can have a major influence on how you perceive, interpret, and react to that experience. That change can help you to let go of traumas, guilt, and fear. Reframing can open pathways to trust, forgiveness, and healing.
